Hi and welcome to my site. I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University, studying armed conflicts and international politics. The overall aim of my research is to advance our understanding of war and peace, and ultimately lay the ground for improved conflict prevention policies. I currently focus on three topics: Historical determinants of present-day conflicts, microfoundations of international relations and political violence, and autocratic security politics. My research has been published in Comparative Political Studies, The Journal of Politics, Journal of Peace Research, Government and Opposition, International Journal of Public Opinion Research, and Social Psychological and Personality Science. I received the PhD degree in Political Science from Aarhus University in 2019. Besides research, I am passionate about travelling, old cars and motorbikes, and sailing.
